Every deal comes down to the rock.
Independent geoscience diligence for real asset investors and operators — gold, critical minerals, oil and gas, helium — finding the opportunities worth your attention, and answering the question underneath every one of them: does the data support what the project claims?
The model can be audited.
The geology usually isn't.
Every resource deal — gold, copper, lithium, helium, oil and gas — arrives as a set of projections resting on a subsurface interpretation. The financial side is built to be checked. The interpretation underneath it rarely gets the same scrutiny, and that is where most of the real risk sits.
The headline number is usually true. What it doesn't tell you is whether it's representative — whether that intercept reflects the deposit or a narrow high-grade streak surrounded by waste, whether the type curve came from the best wells or from all of them, whether recovery was demonstrated or assumed. Resource estimates get built on hole spacing that won't carry the confidence being claimed. Historical figures get carried forward as though they were current. None of it shows on the summary slide, and by the time it does, the capital has already moved. Sometimes the gap sits earlier still: you want exposure to a commodity and don't yet have anything credible in front of you to evaluate.
Strong projects stall for reasons that have nothing to do with the asset. When an institutional investor asks about continuity between holes, sampling protocol, or how a target was ranked, the round moves on whoever can answer with evidence. Independent technical backing turns a good story into a defensible one — and it carries further because it didn't come from you. The same applies before the drill bit turns: a program designed to reporting standard produces data that survives scrutiny instead of inviting it.
Engagements
Fixed scope, clear fee, one named author. No success fee, no carry, and no position in anything we review. Engagements are taken a small number at a time.
Screening Review
A fast, structured read on whether an opportunity warrants deeper work. Geological plausibility, the handful of risks that genuinely move the decision, and the specific questions worth putting to the operator next.
- Deck & disclosure review
- Red-flag register
- Pursue / conditions / pass
- 30-min readout
Full Technical Review
The full technical picture. Data room, logs, assay or test data, QA/QC protocol and survey information, assessed against what the project is projecting and benchmarked against comparable assets and analogues.
- Resource claim assessment
- Sampling & assay integrity
- Geological model critique
- Written verdict + conditions
- 60-min readout
Deep Diligence
Boots on the property. Field verification, independent sampling design, technical interviews with the operating team, and a written opinion built to hold up in an investment committee. For positions where the size of the commitment justifies going to the ground.
- Site visit & verification
- Check-assay program design
- Committee call participation
Buy-Side Asset Search
You name the resource, the jurisdiction, the stage and the size of position you want. Arowe finds the candidates — ground prospected directly, projects already known to us, and whatever a systematic screen of the available universe turns up — then ranks them on geological merit and identifies which are worth your time and which are not.
- Mandate definition: commodity, jurisdiction, stage, scale
- Direct prospecting and ground evaluation
- Screening of listed, private and off-market opportunities
- Ranked longlist with the geological reasoning behind it
- Deeper evaluation of surviving candidates, scoped once the screen is done
- Deal Assay™ on any candidate you decide to pursue
Investor-Ready Technical Package
The documentation institutional investors look for: a clear geological field brief, the technical sections of your materials, maps and cross-sections, and evidence-backed answers to the questions that come up in every serious diligence conversation.
- Field brief
- Deck technical sections
- One-page teaser
- Technical FAQ
- Data room index
Technical Advisory Retainer
Named deliverables, reserved hours, priority turnaround. For funds and operators who want subsurface judgment available continuously rather than one report at a time.
Expert Session
An hour on the record. Bring an opportunity, a property, a data set, or a decision in progress. You'll leave with a clear position and the reasoning behind it — no report to wait for.
Recorded, with a written summary within two business days. Scheduling link sent on payment. Reschedule with 24 hours' notice.
Exploration Program Design & Project Management
Drill programs built to the evidentiary standard a Technical Report requires — and run, not just written. Target ranking, hole placement, sampling and QA/QC protocol, chain of custody, contractor selection and supervision, budget and schedule control, and remote logistics. Design alone if you have a team to execute it; full program management if you do not.
- Target ranking & drill program design
- Sampling, assay & QA/QC protocol
- Contractor selection, supervision & vendor management
- Budget, schedule & remote logistics control
- Data package prepared to reporting standard
Expert Witness & Technical Testimony
Independent geological opinion where it has to hold up under challenge. Written expert reports, deposition and hearing testimony, technical rebuttal of opposing positions, and geological testimony in permitting and regulatory proceedings.
- Expert reports
- Deposition & hearing testimony
- Rebuttal of opposing technical positions
- Permitting & regulatory proceedings
Four steps. No surprises.
Fit call
Twenty minutes, free. What you're looking at, what you need to know, and whether this is worth doing at all.
Scope & deposit
A written scope naming every deliverable and date. Fifty percent to begin. No open-ended hours.
The work
Data room, logs, assays, structure. You hear from us the moment something material surfaces — good or bad.
Verdict & readout
A written position with the reasoning, plus a live call. You can push back on any of it. That's the point.
The name on the report
is the whole product.
Diligence is worth what the person signing it is worth. No committee, no anonymous associate doing the reading, no house view to protect. One name goes on the work — and it belongs to someone who has been on the rig floor, in the core shed, and in the cut.
See how the work reads before you commission it.
A redacted Deal Assay — structure, depth, reasoning and the verdict itself — is shared following a fit call, once we know what you're evaluating and which tier fits. Client work stays client work; nothing is published.
Twenty minutes, no charge. No mailing list, no sequence, no pitch.
Where this fits.
- You're weighing a position from six figures into the millions
- The technical case is the part that's hardest to verify independently
- You'd rather know early than find out late
- You're raising, and want the technical case to carry its own weight
- The project sits in North America, or the data can be reviewed remotely
- You need someone to sign an NI 43-101 or S-K 1300 Technical Report as Qualified Person — Arowe designs and manages the program and prepares the data package; a QP authors and signs the filing
- You need a document that supports a conclusion already reached
- You're seeking investment advice rather than technical judgment
Aryn Rowe
Aryn Rowe has spent her career reading rock and reducing subsurface uncertainty for the people deciding whether to commit serious capital to it. She geosteered wells for BP in Greater Prudhoe Bay; developed a DJ Basin asset to a 3x return in 2.5 years, realized in a $649MM transaction; planned and delivered hundreds of horizontal oil and gas wells for multiple operators; advised on a $600MM acquisition process across subsurface resources; prospected nationwide for helium; and led exploration and development campaigns worth tens of millions of dollars on hard-rock and placer gold ground in Alaska. Gold, critical minerals, oil and gas, helium, geologic hydrogen. The commodity changes. The question underneath never does.
She has also run the programs, not merely reviewed them. As project manager and senior exploration geologist on a district-scale hard-rock gold campaign in interior Alaska, she directed a hundred-plus crew, eight subcontractor teams and a $15MM budget, oversaw helicopter-supported RC and core drilling and twenty-three miles of road construction, and built a geochemistry program in R to model pathfinder minerals in real time at the rig. Before that she co-founded a placer operation she prospected, permitted, financed and ran. That work is where the principle behind this practice comes from: the difference between a strong project and a well-told one is almost never visible in the summary. It is in the logs, the assay certificates, the spacing between holes, and the questions that never got asked.
She has also been on the wrong side of that gap — significant work, a partnership, and nothing to show for it. That experience is why every engagement here begins with a written scope and ends with a position Arowe will defend in front of anyone you care to put it in front of.
